meet melina

Melina is an Okinawan Japanese Greek-American artist from O’ahu, Hawai’i. She is an award-winning filmmaker, shooting primarily on celluloid film formats including Super 8mm and 16mm film. Her works explore themes surrounding memory, identity, perception and place.

Professionally, Melina has worked at nonprofits and arts organizations as a Project Manager, Film Programmer, Consultant, Program Manager and Program Director. She is currently open to new work opportunities.

With a BA in Film Studies, Melina is passionate about film and media, accessibility, artist support, community building and representation on both sides of the lens.
